Sam + Charlotte were married at Woodlands Estate in Gordonton, in the summer of 2017.
When Sam + Charlotte first met, Sam changed Charlotte's tyres at Bridgestone when they were about 19 years of age. It wasn’t until 3 years later that they were officially introduced through a mutual friend and the rest is history. They have now been together four years.
Tell us about the proposal?
On their anniversary Sam took Charlotte to a Japanese restaurant in Takapuna for dinner and then his plan was to take her to the top of Mt Victoria where you can see all of Auckland City lights at night (one of Charlotte's favourite places and the spot of their first date), but as they were driving up to the top of Mt Victoria the security guard was closing the entrance and that was when Charlotte suspected something was up as Sam got very flustered and didn’t know what to do. Instead they went to Devonport Wharf and were walking along looking at the lights when Sam proposed. Charlotte thought he was breaking up with her as his first line was something like “I have been thinking about you being my girlfriend, and I think it is time that you became my wife.” Talk about giving a girl a heart attack.
Wedding day theme: The general theme was garden wedding to fit with the Woodlands vibe. They were meant to have an outdoor dance floor with festoons, however a cyclone meant they couldn’t.
What do you like to do together as a couple?
Charlotte: We like to watch animated movies, do yoga and go for bush walks. We also love to draw together.
Tell us one thing about the other person you adore?
Charlotte: I adore that Sam is always trying to make me laugh by goofing around and being silly.
Sam: I adore that Charlotte is as much of a weirdo as I am.
Sam + Charlotte - You are ABSOLUTE legends and it was our honor to be apart of your wedding day. Thank-you so much for trusting us to capture your wedding day to its fullest.
